"Fashion Design Fundamentals" & "Sustainable Fashion"

$290.00
  • Themes: Introduction to fashion design, where students learn the basics of sketching, fabric types, and the fundamentals of design. Focus on sustainable fashion, using eco-friendly materials or upcycling old garments to create something new and stylish.

  • Projects: Design a basic fashion sketch and choose fabrics that would fit their design (e.g., casual wear, evening wear, or outerwear). Design and create an upcycled accessory (such as a bag or jewelry) or piece of clothing using recycled materials (old t-shirts, fabric scraps, etc.)

  • Skills: Fashion sketching, fabric selection, color theory, and design inspiration. Upcycling techniques, working with unconventional materials, learning about the environmental impact of fashion, and hand-sewing basics.

  • Mini Fashion Show: Students will showcase their sketches and explain their design choices. A simple runway walk can follow, where students display a sample piece from their sketch (such as a scarf or accessory) if time permits. Students will also model their upcycled creations and talk about the materials they used and the importance of sustainable fashion.
